Santiago Acosta Obituary

Santiago Acosta affectionately known as "Lunky", passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2021 at the age of 62.
He was born on May 1st 1958, in the town of Santa Elena, located in the country of Belize to Dalia Nunez Acosta and Leonardo Acosta. Santiago had a total of 12 siblings, of which 6 are deceased. He is survived by his devoted wife and soul-mate of 42 yrs, Lupita Acosta, his 2 daughters Carlina (Carly) Dalia Scaggs, Shani Mae Acosta and his son-in-law Jonathan (Jon) Scaggs. Along with his siblings Marcos Acosta, Eli Acosta, Elizabeth Faulkner, Carla Ochaeta, Brenda Smith and Hector Acosta, in addition to countless cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He met his future wife, Lupita Figueroa while visiting a mutual friend in the capital city of Belmopan where they were both working at the time. Two years later they married on March 31st, 1979.
His work ethic and desire to give his family a better life, led him to emigrate to Houston, TX in 1983. Due to the immense love he had for his family, Santiago would work 2 and sometimes even 3 jobs at the same time to provide all necessities and entertainment for his family. Ever the family man, he cherished family-time the most. Santiago was happiest when spending time with his family going to dinner, movies, theme parks, parties but enjoyed travelling the most. Whenever possible he would take his family with him everywhere he went. His family and he were inseparable.
Santiago had an infectious smile, generous spirit and made friends everywhere he went. To know him was to love him. He was a magnificent dad and adoring husband. His parting leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones that can never be filled. Santiago will be forever missed and never forgotten by all who love him.
