Robert Paschal Obituary

Robert Wade Paschal was born November 29, 1924 to Robert J. and Winne Dee (McCleary) Paschal in Corsicana, Texas. Robert died at the Brookdale Shadowlake Assisted Living Center on March 8, 2025. He graduated from Corsicana High School and Texas Christian University. Robert served as nose gunner and togglier on a B-17 in the 8 th Air Force as a part of 401 st Bomb Group and flew 21 missions. He received the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf clusters and a Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1946. After the war he married Paulene (Polly) Peacock, June 1, 1946.  They were happily married until her death in 2012.

Robert worked for a variety of companies mainly in the oil and gas industry including Mid-Continent Oil Supply, Loffland Brothers Drilling Company and Western Oceanic Drilling.  Robert earned his private pilot’s license and owned or co-owned a number of small airplanes that he happily flew in his off-time. In retirement he and Polly took their RV all over from Texas to the Pacific Northwest and Canada. He loved fishing and practical jokes.  Robert was a life-long United Methodist and most recently a long-time member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston and of the Good News Sunday School Class there. He served in a variety of offices and volunteer positions in that church and in other churches where they lived.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Polly, his brother, Billy Jack Paschal, his sister, Dorothy Jackson, and his grandson, William Baker II. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Sharon Baker, his son, Robert Wade Paschal, Jr. and his wife, Sandi, and his daughter, Robi Lipscomb Day, and her husband, Tim. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dana Baker Hutchins and her husband, Tim, Robert Wade (Trey) Paschal III, Katherine Paulene Paschal Fulda and her husband Ryan, Nikola Dunkelberg and her husband, Ryan, David Lipscomb Jr. and his wife, Cori Bray, Dale Lipscomb and his wife Emily, and his great-grand children Tony Baker, Anthony Rendon, Austen Parker, Aerelle Taylor, Kinley Fulda, Claire Fulda, Barrett Fulda, Penelope Lipscomb and Celia Lipscomb, Lux Lipscomb and Ezra Lipscomb, and his great-great grandchildren Noah Rendon. Catherine Baker, Willa Baker, Emmalyn Bolt,
and Karley Taylor.

Robert’s Memorial Service will be at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 nd .
