Renato M. Manahan

Renato Mallari Manahan was born on December 26, 1936 to Jose Manahan and Laureana Mallari. He is the youngest of fourteen children and is survived by his two remaining sisters, Vicenta and Felicidad.

He was a Commerce Major. He worked in the private sector as an Accountant in the Overseas Bank of Manila and in the government sector as a bookkeeper in the Metro Manila Transit Corporation for twenty years.
He immigrated to the United States after retiring in the Philippines. He worked for Vestcom, a printing company, from 1995 to 2004 earning him a second retirement through Social Security in the US.
He is a loving, dedicated husband to his wife Virgina and dedicated father to his children MaryAn, Ruel, Dante, Renato Jr., Viren, Victor, Vergel, and Veejay.
He is Grandfather to Katrina, Kristine, Patrick, Kristian Ruven, Brandon, John Ezekiel, Steven, Anne-Marie, Angelyn,  Daryn-jake, and Elisa Ahri.
He loved western movies, Filipino teleserye especially “Ikaw Iamang” and “Legal Wife.” He enjoyed horse racing. He adopted and took care of a horse named “Flag Leader” that was always on time for the race but never won one.
He loved  ‘sarsiadong spam’, okoy, vegetable eggroll, ‘lugaw’ and classic Italian Quizno’s. He also liked lechon with crispy skin and German chocolate cake.
His typical day started with a cup of coffee, a rosary with Sister Angelica and a rosary for  the Chaplet of St. Michael.
He was called to be on God’s side on June 4, 2014.
He will forever be remembered with fond memories.

Visitation will be held at Unity Funeral Home 7730 Boone Rd. Houston, Tx. 77072 on Friday and Saturday June 6, and June 7, 2014 from 2-9 pm.
