Ranjan H Mody passed away on Nov. 29th 2022 at the age of 85 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Mumbai, India on Dec. 11, 1936. She was preceded in death by husband, Hasmukh Mody; their son, Nielesch Mody; her brothers Naran and V. Maniar, and her sister, Indu Ajmera. She is survived by her daughters Nilima Mody and Namieta Janssen, son in law Paul Janssen, and her cherished grandchildren, Paul Jr, Christopher, Natalie, and Nicholas Janssen as well as extended family in Canada and India. Ranjan lived her life fully and will be remembered always as a beautiful, kind, loving, and giving friend, mother and grandmother. She lived in India, Germany, Canada, and several states in the US, happily becoming a naturalized US citizen in 1970. She was also an astute and active businesswoman, and in her later years travelled the world with gusto, curiosity, and delight. She climbed Macchu Picchu, saw the Great Wall of China, penguins in Antarctica, and hugged a giraffe in Africa. She will be truly missed and forever loved. The family will receive visitors at Unity Funeral Home, 7730 Boone Road, Houston Texas on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 10am. Her ashes will be returned to India at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter or rescue.
