Olasunmbo Aje Obituary

Olasunmbo Iyabode Aje, 44, slept in the Lord peacefully on Tuesday March 22, 2017 in Houston, Texas.   Born May 19, 1972 in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria, to Oke Michael Olaleye and Olufunke Mary Olaleye (Nee Elegbeleye).   Olasunmbo attended Christ Girl School Ado Ekiti from 1983 to 1988 after which she obtained an Ordinary National Diploma in Accounting from The Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti.  She proceeded further to obtain higher National Diploma in Accounting from the same institution.

In addition, Olasunmbo bagged a Post Graduate Diploma in Management at The University of Calabar, Cross River State and later attended Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomoso, Nigeria with a Master's Degree cap in hand in Management Information Systems.

She was dedicated to duty and served in various capacities in different organizations.  Olasunmbo started her career back in Nigeria where she worked as an Auditor, Senior Accounting Officer and also coordinating and management capacities.   She belonged to a number of professional bodies such as ICAN and Chattered Institue of Economics Nigeria.   Ola was very diligent and had unquenchable thirst for knowledge acquisition.   She had many professional certifications to her credit.

Olasunmbo Iyabode worked with different organizations in Nigeria and in the U.S. where she added values.   Such organizations included but not limited to Denham Management, Keystone Bank and she ended with the Metropolitan Transis Authority of Harris County, Houston, Texas, United States.

Ola loved her family dearly and spent time making sacrifices for them.   She had passion for children and often volunteered to serve them willingly at any point in time.

Her greatest investment in people.   She demonstrated this through her kindness, free interaction and understanding of divergent culture, opinion and views of others without be judgemental.   Olasunmbo once said, "It is convenient for me to give than to receive".

Above all Olasunmbo was a woman of great faith.   In her period of comfort or challenges, she never stepped back from holding on to her faith.

Olasunbo Aje is survived by her husband, Lawrence Aje.  Four siblings:  Yemisi Awaje, Nike Aworanti, Adedamola Julius Olaleye and Babatune; mother:  Mrs. Olufunke Mary Olaleye
