Nelson Goolsby

Robert “Nelson” Goolsby, 75, a resident of Houston for most of his life, passed away on March 17, 2023
after a long battle with Alzheimer’s in his home in Galveston, surrounded by loved ones.
Nelson was born June 14, 1947 to William Joseph Goolsby and Frances Alford Goolsby in Houston,
Texas. He graduated from Milby High School in 1965 and stayed loyal to his Milby Family his whole life.
Nelson was a dedicated and loyal family man who cherished his family above all else.
Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Goolsby, and his brothers Dennie
Goolsby and Michael Goolsby.
Survivors: Wife, Kelly Robinson, Galveston. Daughter, Rebecca Goolsby and grandchildren Laura, Grace
and Lizzy, Meadows Place. Son, Robbie and Emily Goolsby and grandchildren, William and Leah,
Chattanooga, TN. Cassandra Lee and grandson Parker, TN.
Services will be held on Monday, March 27 th at Unity Funeral Home at 7730 Boone Road, Houston, TX
77072 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. He will be interred at Forrest ParkLawndale Cemetery in Houston.
