Marie Haynes Obituary

Marie Bernadette nee Oates Vickery Haynes was born December 13, 1943 in Prichard, Mobile County, Alabama.  She died in Houston, Harris County, Texas on December 2, 2013.  Marie is predeceased by her parents, Daniel John Oates and Eula Fay Dotson.  Marie is also predeceased by 4 of 5 siblings: Francis Aquinas Oates; Daniel John Oates, Jr.; Richard Joseph Oates; and Henri Vincinte nee Oates Flynn.  Marie is also predeceased by one child, Alan Randall Joseph Vickery.  Marie is survived by one sister, Hester Laura nee Oates Weinacker and husband, Rick Weinacker of Point Clear, Alabama.  Marie is also survived by her loving husband of twenty-four years, Allen D. Haynes of Houston, Texas.  Marie is further survived by 3 children hereby listed in order of birth:  Marie Allyson nee Vickery Humber; Alan R. J. Vickery; Wendi-Fay Michele nee Vickery Martinez and husband, Jesse Martinez.       Bernadette leaves as part of her legacy 5 grandchildren hereby listed in order of birth:  Ashley Humber; Rylan Vickery; Rafe Vickery; Karla-Fay Marie Martinez; and Cristian Joseph Martinez.  Marie also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.  The family wishes to take the opportunity to thank all her caregivers at Always Best Care of West Houston, and the staff members of Transitional Home Health who have taken such good care of her this past year.  The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Kelsey-Seybold and St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital for their professionalism and level of compassion in the treatment of Marie.  In lieu of flowers, please make all contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in her Marie’s memory.  Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM in the Unity Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary at 10:00 AM.  A Mass will follow at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 7720 Boone Road, Houston, Texas at 11:00 AM.                                                                                                                                                           Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
