Margaret Vunkeng Tangu, 64, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Houston, TX. The daughter of Nganganu Didas Forchang and Maria Kagno she was born September 18, 1954 in Cameroon. She married Charles Agendia Tangu on July 1, 1975 and they have shared 43 years together. The dynamite duo raised 5 children, 8 grandchildren and several foster children. She worked full time as a early-childhood teacher for over 33 years before retiring. While in Houston, she was heavily involved with Catholic Women’s Association, DePelchin Children’s Center and various other organizations within the community. Margaret never met a stranger and she loved helping out any way she could, whether it was at school, babysitting or just being there to pray with you. She was a devout Catholic who attended weekly worship at St. Justin’s Catholic Church as well as other Catholic Churches in Houston. She loved being around small children where she could be a kid again. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, tennis, swimming and all aspects of life. Margaret is preceded in death by her brother Godfrey Ndongmo and her beloved grandson Kyron Agendia. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Charles Tangu; her son, Dr. Jude Agendia and daughter-in-law, Melissa Agendia; her daughters, Jane-Frances Ndemanu, Keumboh Tangu, Aime Tangu and Marie-Louise Tangu; her brother Peter Ndongmo, her sisters Pauline Nkeng Ndongmo Montoki and Monique Ndongmo; her grandchildren, Micah Agendia, Abram Agendia, Ethan Tangu Christian, Lionel Mepewou, Meira Mepewou, Roger Mepewou, Kah Kenfack Fortingo, Kehmia Kiamboh Fortingo; her nieces Delphine Mepewou and her husband, Roger; Sydole Mbakoup-Fortingo and her husband, Robert; and a host of other loving family members and friends. A funeral mass will be held at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 13350 Ashford Point Drive, Houston, TX 77082 on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:30 PM with Father Paul Chovanec officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church.
