Lora "Jean" Oliver (November 10, 1951 - September 27, 2013), passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born and raised in Houston Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit Guy Rowley, her "mom" Billie Jeanette Rowley, brother George Arthur Rowley and infant daughter Michelle Marie Austin.
Jean is survived by her life partner and loving spouse Linda Freeland, her mother Edna Pinson, step-father Arthur Pinson, her children Angela Pagel (husband Jeremy Pagel), Karen Austin Black (husband John Black), Darrell Oliver (wife Narintha Oliver), her sisters, Carole Ruthardt, Susie Rowley, Rebecca Pinson, her grandchildren Tyler Austin, Brandon Pavlacka, Benz Tuipae, Bow Tuipae, ChannaWee Oliver, Emily Black, her nieces Amy Ruthardt, Sarah MacNiven, and many wonderful life long friends.
Jean enjoyed traveling, listening to waves with a glass of malibu rum and spending time with her friends and family. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation on September 30th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with a memorial service to follow in the Chapel of Unity Funeral Home, 7730 Boone Road, Houston, Texas 77072.
Service will be officiated by Pastor Calvin Hunt. Pallbearers will include her son Darrell Oliver, son-in-law Jeremy Pagel, grandson Tyler Austin (LSSA, USN), grandson Brandon Pavlacka, nephew Michael Busby and brother-in-law Thad Freeland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or American Cancer Society.
