Joanna Bernice Barg Smith
Joanna Smith, of Houston, Texas, has gone on to be with her Lord and Savior on February 11, 2015, 11:30 p.m. at the age of 81. Joanna Smith is predeceased by her parents Fred and Helen Barg, her sister Sharon Barg, stepson John Dinwiddie Jr, husband John Dinwiddie, and husband John Smith. Joanna Smith is lovingly remembered by her brothers Bill Barg and Bob Barg; children David Dinwiddie, Ed Dinwiddie and his wife Laura, Cheryl Ruiz and her husband Eddy, Kevin Dinwiddie and his wife Elaine, Brian Dinwiddie and his wife Dilcia, and step daughters Clara Carandante and Peggy Bovie; grandchildren Meshele Coulibaly, Jeremy Green, Jesse Lindsey, Michelle Medley, Melissa Dinwiddie, Nichole Dinwiddie, Kristen Dinwiddie, Karina Dinwiddie, Orren Dinwiddie II, Shawn Tackett, Clinton Dinwiddie, Theodore Dinwiddie, Nicholas Dinwiddie, Brian Dinwiddie Jr., John Dinwiddie, Enmanuel Dinwiddie, Abigail Dinwiddie; great-grandchildren Alexis Gonzales, Jayden Dinwiddie, Clay Olderham, Payton Medley, Jace Dinwiddie, Jenna Martin, Isaiah Gonzalez, Ryan Evans, Bryndan Evans, Willow Dinwiddie, Ashley Tackett, Justin Tackett, Brandon Tackett, Cameron Tackett, Luke Tackett, Dylan Tackett, Tyler Tackett and Noah Tackett, and nephews Bill Barg Jr and Kenny Barg. Joanna Smith was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 6, 1933. She enjoyed traveling, loving cats, and working with plants. Joanna loved everyone regardless of status, race, religion or creed and that legacy is apparent when you look at our wonderfully diverse family! Joanna and John Smith moved to the Houston area from Dayton, Ohio in 1979. The memorial service will be held at First Colony Church of Christ, 2140 First Colony Blvd. Sugar Land, Texas on February 17, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. Her desire was to be cremated and her ashes mixed with her beloved John Smith’s ashes and spread at various locations.
