Our heavenly father called Jarrett Jon VanderWilt to join Him in Heaven on April 8, 2016. He was born in Bay City, Texas on April 16, 1979. A Memorial Mass will be held in his honor at Notre Dame Catholic Church (7720 Boone Rd. Houston, Texas 77072) on Friday April 15, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. with a reception following services.
Jarrett attended school in Alief and graduated from Alief Elsik High School in May 1998. He attended Houston Community College following high school. He spent two years there and moved on to the University of Houston. He graduated in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Jarrett loved being a chemist and worked in research & development with two different drilling mud companies in Houston. He was an avid coin collector, amateur metallurgist, and loved animals.
He is survived by his parents, Julia and Jon VanderWilt, his younger brother, Justin VanderWilt all of Houston, Texas, his older sister, Ginger Miller of Manor, Texas, and his older half-brother, Royce W. Moore of Odessa, Texas. Jarrett had a very inquisitive nature and a passion for learning new things. He was a devoted son, brother and friend. We will all miss him.
