Jack Christopher Appling went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2025, in Manvel, Texas. He was 20 years old. Jack was born on March 25, 2004, in Sugar Land, Texas, to Berry and Jennifer Appling.
Jack was full of adventure and vitality. He was bigger than life. Jack was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend. From the time he was a toddler, Jack loved cooking. He learned how to bake cookies, brownies, pies, and cakes by his Mom's side. As Jack grew older, his love of cooking ventured into barbecue. Jack grilled pork shoulder into a delicious meat candy, grilled mouthwatering steaks and burgers, and made scrumptious bacon wrapped duck jalapeno poppers on the BBQ pit. Jack was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish from the time he could walk. He enjoyed his favorite pastimes with his Dad, Grandpa, his brothers Buddy and Ricky, and dear friends Ethan Thompson and Bryndan Strahan. He never missed an opportunity to hang out with family and friends, and never left without telling everyone “I love you”. Yes, even his friends! In Jack’s life, he fiercely loved everyone and had such a servant's heart to serve Jesus Christ. He donated his hair to Locks of Love. He served families at Convoy of Hope. In life, Jack was registered as an organ donor and in death, Jack will live on in others.
Jack was also an incredibly hard worker. His outstanding work ethic and workmanship garnered much praise from all he served and worked with. He was truly a Jack of All Trades and a master of all. Jack worked in asphalt maintenance. He worked in building remodeling. Jack lovingly helped his Grandpa build his house. He helped his Mimi and Uncle Randy with outdoor tasks and maintenance on their properties. Jack was a mechanic, always learning about auto repair and didn't hesitate to jump in and get greasy. He worked in tree removal services and had a budding clientele list for his expertise in many areas. Jack loved working with his brother at a deer ranch, where Jack did the work of three men with time to spare.
Jack is preceded in death by his Papa Narciso Aracil and his Great Mema Tommye McCloud. Jack is survived by his heartbroken Dad and Mom, Berry and Jennifer Appling of Alvin; his sister, Anastacia Aracil, of Los Banos, CA; his brother, Buddy Appling and the best sister in law, Jordan Appling, of Manvel; his brother, Ricky Appling, of Alvin.
