David James Greathouse Jr.

David James Greathouse Jr., 33 years of age, from Houston, Texas passed away on May 15, 2024. David was born in Houston on April 30, 1991, first son to Rosa and David Greathouse Sr.

David had a big heart. Always helped others before he would help himself. Always tried to find ways to help people however way he could, if he had a dollar on him, he would use it to help someone else, it didn’t matter to him if that’s all he had. He was honest, loyal and hilarious without trying. He loved his family deeply. He was very thankful towards Anthony for taking care of his mother and brother when he felt that he couldn’t do it. So proud of Tyler for becoming an extraordinary man. Always wanted a better future for his little brother. Loved his mother dearly and liked to annoy her with silly little jokes. You would hear her say “stop it David” and you would hear him laughing. He also loved music, old school 90s hip hop to be exact, and would say “not this new gibberish”. His smile was contagious and would light up the room. If you saw him smiling, without you knowing, you were smiling already. His laugh was one of a kind. And who can forget his famous words “n ameen” or “talmbout” till this day we don’t know where he got them from. He was also very proud of his dogs. Everywhere he would go, he had pictures to show people and say, “my dogs”. David had so much love to give and anyone would have been so lucky to have him in their life. He also loved his friends and enjoyed many nights make them laugh with his funny, loud, and big-hearted jokes. Please let us remember him with a big smile because that’s the way he would want us to remember him: Happy.

To David, family was everything and he enjoyed being a positive, loving person to others. 

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: Mother: Rosa Greathouse (Anthony). Brother: Tyler Greathouse. He also leaves behind many more family members and friends.

Visitation for David J Greathouse Jr. will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Unity Funeral Home Chapel, 7730 Boone Rd., Houston, TX 77072.  

Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 30, 2024, at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, 10503 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77042 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM; please make plans to arrive by 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery located at 12800 Westheimer Road., Houston, TX 77077
