Celso Vergara Lobrin

Celso Vergara Lobrin, age 61, beloved father of Cheryl, Christine, and Catherine, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Memorial Hermann Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Celso was born in Lipa City, Philippines, on July 25, 1952, and was one of 10 children of the late Mariano and Jovita (Vergara) Lobrin. Raised in the Philippines, he moved to the United States in 1974. Celso proudly served in the U.S. Navy. After his military career, he worked and then retired at the U.S. Postal Service in Houston, Texas.

Celso loved God and enjoyed attending church every Sunday faithfully serving as an usher at St. Justin Martyr Church. During Celso’s leisure time, he enjoyed spending his days with his daughters, shopping, dining and dancing.

Celso is survived by his children: Cheryl, Christine and Catherine and his first grandson Sean Alexander Lobrin Zaldivar. He is also survived by his siblings, Lydia Lobrin of Lipa City, Philippines, Zenaida L. Meleke (Sam Meleke) of Houston, Texas, Lorna L. Andal (Rene Andal), Los Angeles, California, Sonia L. Leynes of Houston; sister-in-law Anastacia Lobrin, brother-in-law Danilo Pasajol and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Frederick Lobrin, Romeo Lobrin, Virgilio Lobrin, Melinda L. Pasajol and Josefino Lobrin.
