Carmen Tate Obituary

Carmen Ann Tate (Barber) age 87 passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019 in the comfort of her own home of 45 years on Briarport Drive after a brief struggle to overcome gallbladder surgery. Carmen was born December 3, 1931 in Dallas the daughter of Olga and Roger Barber. She lived an exciting life growing up in Colombia going to the University in Dallas and raising three children. She was a successful model for Neiman Marcus until she married the love of her life Joe Tate in Dallas she became the mother of a blended family of five.

Carmen and Joe opened one of the largest travel clubs in America . They continued their success in the travel industry opening a Caribbean and Mexico wholesale travel company which they continued to operate for 25 years , and if that weren't enough before retiring specializing in WorldWide Cruises for 10 years. Even with her exciting lifestyle she always found time for her children and grandchildren always celebrating their birthdays , anniversaries and holidays creating a loving home where everyone felt loved , safe and ALWAYS WELCOMED.
She leaves behind her brother Travis Barber, daughter Valerie Magallanes (Manuel DeLuna) her sons Marcus Hodgkins and Bill Tate (Nonie). Also three grandchildren Natalie Magallanes , Rachel Tate and Kyle Hodgkins. Her adopted daughters Maria Esther , Lori and so many more to name them all. She loved many as was loved By many...
