Carl Edward McCloud, 51, passed away Friday March 30, 2007 in Port Arthur, Texas after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Carl was born to William Edward and Vivian Lee Jones McCloud in Houston, Texas on May 3, 1955. He graduated from James Madison High School in Houston. He received his Bachelors Degree in Education from Northwestern University. Carl was an advocate of learning and a gifted teacher who loved sharing education with his students. The most cherished memories of Carl will be his charismatic personality and upbeat positive outlook toward life. During his illness his goal was to keep his family's spirit and hopes up. He had an amazing green thumb and loved gardening of all kinds. Carl had a great appreciation and enjoyed all types of music, but was most fond of Elvis. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Edward McCloud in 1995. He is survived by his loving mother, Vivian McCloud of Orange; devoted brother and sister, Darrell McCloud of Rosharon, Texas and Carolyn Moaveni & husband Siamack of Smithsburg, Maryland, nieces and nephews, Anya Moaveni & Derrick Robin of Lafayette, Louisiana, Eva, Amiel, Javad, and Mira Moaveni all of Smithsburg, Maryland, long time cherished friend, James A. Johnson of Bridge City, Texas and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Pastor Michael Hein officiated the funeral services which were held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Castor Baptist Church, 2057 Slagle Road, Leesville, Louisiana. Carl was buried next to his father in Castor Cemetery. A reception followed at the church.
