"Bob" LeCour Obituary

ROBERT JOSEPH LECOUR was born in Olney, Texas on July 9, 1950. He graduated to Heaven on July 24, 2019 at the age of 69.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyal and Audrey LeCour. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hoke LeCour; son and wife, Shelby & Julie Jerden, and grandchildren Christopher, Simon, & Alex Jerden; daughter, Robyn Lux and grandchildren Owen & Olivia Lux; sister and husband, Rhonda & Terry Lindner, and niece & her husband, Dawn & Jason Roznovsky; and nephew & his wife, Kenny & Megan Lindner; sister and husband, Becky & Shane Carroll, and nephew, Sean Carroll.

Even though Bob was born in Olney, he considered himself a Houstonian, as his family moved to Houston when he was an infant. He graduated from S. P. Waltrip High School in 1969 and he continued his education at Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, where he obtain his license as a Funeral Director.

In 1980 he married the love of his life, Kathy Hoke LeCour. They just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on June 7th. Bob was a devoted husband and loving father. His strong Christian heritage allowed him to excel over the many challenges he faced in life. Bob and Kathy have been members of "exciting" Second Baptist Church family for many years.

We can only imagine the huge celebration and rejoicing going on in Heaven by loved ones and family members who have gone on before. As the inscription on the marker for Bob's dog, Bubba, states ...."We'll see you on the other side."

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Second Baptist Church West Campus - The Williams House. 19449 Katy Freeway. Houston, TX, 77094 with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a Memorial Contribution in Bob's name to the charity of your choice.

THE DASH

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.

He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning....to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears,

but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth

and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own, the cars...the house...the cash.

What matters is how we live and love, and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard; are there things you'd like to change?

For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real

and always try to understand the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more

and love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile...

remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash,

would be you proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?
