It takes a special kind of person to care enough to take the time for others. It takes the kind of person who, in a quiet and sincere way, will do whatever it takes to help somebody out; someone who knows that giving makes living a pleasure, and that thoughtfulness is the best measure of a person.
Sister Betty J. Williams was born July 15, 1940 to the late Lillie Mae Blakely Waxter and James Waxter in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. On Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Harbor Hospice Hospital she surrendered to the call from her heavenly father. At that appointed time she had completed her battle and won the race as God finished the war and she took a new journey to the pathway of a new life.
Sister Betty J. Williams united in Holy Matrimony to the late Robert Banks and through this union three beautiful daughters where born. She also was united in Holy Matrimony on January 31, 1980 to David Williams, Sr., her beloved husband for a spanned thirty-four years. She was employed as a Care Giver for over 30 plus years.
Sister Betty J. Williams, accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an earlier age. She was a member of the Six Union Baptist Church and Greater St. Stevens in New Orleans, Louisiana. She later joined Perfecting Ministers under the leadership of Reverend Gordon Thomas. Her faithfulness to God and her commitment to her church would be remembered.

Williams, leaves to cherish her memories: her three Devoted daughters: Bobbie - Banks (Johnny) Weary; Rosina - Banks (Jimmy) Battle; Bianca Banks; twenty grandchildren: Stephen, Brandon (Shante), Brionne (Fiance’ Deadrick), Boudy, Desmond Johnson, Mauricia (Jose) Martinez, Wilinesha and Robernike Banks, Brian Lee III, Eric Theard, John Weary, Malik Walker, June Jenkins, Jr., Charlene and Derrick Williams, Shasta Johnson, Laura, Eric and Lisa Helm; fifteen great grandchildren; seven step-children: Cynthia (Fiancé Norris) Williams, Samantha (Melvin) Richardson, David Williams, Jr., McKinley Coleman, Gary, Kevin and Christopher Rogers; eleven step-grandchildren; one extended daughter: Josie (Vernal) Washington; three godchildren: Kimberly Waxter, Rochelle Washington and Rosalyn Rayford; one sister: Connie Waxter; four brothers: Johnny, Isac (Glenda), Alfred and Tommy Lee (Patricia) Waxter; three sister-in laws, one brother-in law and a host of nieces, nephews, step-great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
Sister Betty J. Williams, was preceded in death by her parents, both maternal and paternal grandparents, one sister, six brothers, five brother-in laws and three sister-in laws.
