Mrs. Barbara Mitchell Pharr, 71, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2022. Barbara was born on May 5, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to Harold and Betty Black. She was raised in Southern California where she attended Sylmar High School in San Fernando Valley. Go Spartans!
In 1971, Barbara moved back to Texas to raise her own family and succeeded in a tough sales career that would span 5 decades of excellence. To meet her, was to immediately love her. She was brilliant, talented, funny, generous, patient and honorable with immeasurable inner and outer beauty.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Pharr, brother Rob Black and her son, Troy. Barbara is survived by her daughter Wendy, sisters Lori-Beth and Julie, and a whole slew of nieces and nephews.
Also left to mourn her memory are her countless friends and colleagues, including her church family from St. Luke's Methodist Church, her team of volunteers at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Houston Restaurant Association, and multiple charities and causes.
She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to your local animal shelter or rescue.
