Agendia Tangu Obituary

Charles Agendia Tangu, 73, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Charles was the cherished son of the late Ben Atabong Tangu and Francisca Tangu, born on March 23, 1951 in Njenata Dewoh Fotabong I, Cameroon. He married his late wife, Margaret Vunkeng Tangu, on July 1, 1975, and shared 43 years together. Charles and Margaret built a life marked by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to family. Charles was blessed to raise five children and took immense joy in being a loving father and grandfather. His legacy lives on through his children, Dr. Jude Agendia (Melissa), Jane-Frances Ndemanu, Keumboh Tangu, Aime Tangu, and Marie-Louise Tangu, along with his eight grandchildren: Micah and Abram Agendia, Ethan Tangu Christian, Lionel, Meira, and Roger Mepewou, Kah Kenfack and Kehmia Kiamboh Fortingo. He also leaves behind dear nieces, Delphine Merewou (Roger), Sydole Mbakoup-Fortinge (Robert), and many other family and friends touched by his kindness and generosity.

Charles' early life began in Cameroon, where he completed his schooling and started his career with the West Cameroon Development Agency. He initially worked as an accounts clerk before transferring to the position of assistant accountant at Ekona Research. Eager to further his education, Charles moved to the United States, where he successfully earned a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Prairie View A&M. Here, he began his career as an independent distributor with the Houston Post before transitioning to nursing, where he made a lasting impact for over 15 years. Charles deeply valued family and enjoyed simple pleasures like frying a turkey for Thanksgiving, watching his favorite TV shows, Matlock, Mork & Mindy, and Murder, She Wrote, and enjoying African cinema. His life was marked by kindness, humility, and a commitment to helping others, particularly those in need. Though he lived quietly, his smile was a lasting reflection of his warmth and generosity. The joy he brought into the lives of others will continue to resonate, leaving an everlasting impact on all who knew him. Charles’ memory will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace
