Harold Schneider Obituary

Harold James Schneider

It is with great sadness that the family of Harold James Schneider announces his passing on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at the age of 76 years. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Barbara J. Schneider and his son, Rhett J. Schneider. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandson, Aaron J. Schneider, by his sister, Lydia Havran (Sissy), and his brother, Ronald P. Schneider (Ronnie). Harold was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Schneider, and his mother, Lydia Schneider. Also his brothers Arnold Schneider, Eugene Schneider, and sister Josephine Meyer.

Harold was born in Houston, TX on January 29th, 1942. He attended Lanier High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 6 years and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. On February 3rd, 1963 he married Barbara, his high school sweetheart. On March 2nd, 1973 he welcomed his son Rhett and on December 1st, 2011, his grandson Aaron, who he loved dearly.

For over 45 years, Harold built and designed custom built furniture for interior decorators in the Houston area. During this time he created and formed two companies, Decorator’s Designs and Designer’s Visions, LLC. At the same time, he established himself as a major player in the industry while becoming well-loved within the designers community.

All those that knew Harold would agree that he was a humorous person and generous to those in need. He when never think twice on helping anyone who needed it and would not think twice about giving the shirt off his back.

A viewing service, along with a celebration of Harold’s life, is scheduled from 5-9pm on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018 at the Unity Funeral Home, 7730 Boone Rd, Houston, TX 77072. Minister Dan Kelly, from Lakewood Church, will officiate.
