Florence Jeanis Armbruster

It is with great sadness that the family of Florence Jeanis Armbruster announces her passing on September 14, 2018, at the age of 88 years.  She was born April 30, 1930 in Crowley, LA, the oldest daughter of Louis P. Jeanis and Lena Savoy Jeanis.  She is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Robert B. Armbruster, Jr., who passed away in 2006.  She was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and mother.  Florence’s entire life revolved around her husband of over 50 years, the late Robert Armbruster, and their daughters, Margaret, Janice, Bobbie and Marian.  She was a nurturing mother who played many roles in her life- a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, a girl scout leader, nurse, chauffeur, cook, hostess, mediator, and a brave warrior to breast cancer, a battle she proudly won.  Florence graduated from Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in New Orleans where she met her future husband Robert Armbruster.  She was a devoted stay at home mother while her daughters were young. She returned to work as a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital, as a medical-surgical nurse with a specialization in enterostomal therapy.  Florence loved to cook and sew and was excelled at both, and was kind and loving soul.

 She will always be remembered fondly and with great love by four daughters: Margaret Armbruster Radzwill and husband Jeff; Janice Armbruster Capizzo and husband Joe; Roberta (Bobbie) Armbruster Russell and husband Kenneth; and Marian Armbruster Linsenmaier and husband Kurt.  She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Justin Radzwill, , Adam Linsenmaier and Jesse Linsenmaier, Timothy Armbruster, Adrienne and Rachel Capizzo, Robert (Robby) Leonpacher, Jackie, Kenny, Sarah, and Samantha Russell, as well as 5 great-grand children.

 She is preceded in death by her brother, Rayford Jeanis.  She is survived by siblings, Curtis Jeanis, Janet Talley, and sister-in-law, Dianne Langley Jeanis, as well as nephews: Jerry Glasscock, Steve Jeanis, Curtis Jeanis, Jr., Louis Paul Jeanis, Joseph Ben Jeanis, and David Allen Jeanis; and nieces Cindy Jeanis Bush, Debbie Jeanis Viator, and Debbie Glasscock.

  A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft, Houston, TX.  A committal service will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery and Mausoleum, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA, 70124 where she will be laid to rest in eternal rest beside her beloved husband, Robert B. Armbruster, Jr.
