Elaine Agnes (Courtney) Drummond

Elaine Agnes (Courtney) Drummond passed away on October 28th, 2023 at Houston Methodist Hospital. Elaine was born on January 17, 1940 in Cresco, Iowa and grew up in Decorah, Iowa. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1958 and went on to nursing school in Marietta, GA. She met her husband Nathan in 1962 and they were married in 1964 in Bluffton, Iowa. The family then moved to Houston, Texas in 1965 where Nathan worked in the oil and gas industry and Elaine worked as a surgical nurse, and later in child care. She was a very active member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and was a founding member of the Catholic Daughters of America at Notre Dame. Elaine loved children, especially her grandchildren and the children she watched and helped raise. She brought joy to all who were around her. She had a wonderful, loving heart with an infectious laugh. Elaine will be missed and affectionately remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Nathan Lee Drummond Jr. of Houston, TX and James Cory Drummond of Richmond, TX along with his wife Samantha Drummond and three grandchildren Dylan, Logan and Brayden Drummond. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Nichols, and her brother, Louis Courtney. Elaine had a very large family with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lee Drummond, their daughter, Theresa Lea Drummond, her parents, Harry and Stella Courtney, and 7 brothers and sisters.
